Poetry Contest

Saturday, March 29 2pm

In partnership with MIIS, the Monterey Alliance Française offers a poetry contest open to all students taking French classes in the region. Students, introduced by their teachers, recite either their own poems or those of French or Francophone poets. After the jury announces the best reciters and poems will receive awards in the presence of Gisèle Kapuscinski, a member of our Alliance and creator of this contest.

Your presence and support will be great encouragement for those students who have chosen to learn French and to promote the French language.

Potluck wine and cheese tasting

Sunday, March 16 at 3pm

Hosted by Christian Viollaz, Chez Christian Real Estate, 704 Broadway Street, Suite C, Seaside

Parking is on the main street as well as private parking, entrance south side.

To celebrate La Francophonie Week (that takes place from March 16 to 23) Christian Viollaz, our host, invited us to the opening of its newest real estate agency with a warm and welcoming setting. Bring cheese and wine from a French-speaking country or a French region with some accompaniments (bread, raisins, nuts …) and we share our knowledge and taste cheeses and their origin, the idea being to taste cheeses and wines from a country, a region, Christian will explain the different types of cheese making and will lead a discussion about regions of origin of French cheeses.

See the March bulletin for details.
